The conditions were still a bit rough this morning, but we made our first dives to map the site. Visibility was still poor - about one foot - and the surge was still noticeable but substantially less. The conditions were challenging, but the mapping process began.

The afternoon brought dimished wind and waves, and the conditions on site improved dramatically. The surge was almost absent, and visibility improved to nearly three feet. Our afternoon mapping dives lasted nearly two hours in the improved conditions. We are keeping our fingers crossed for further improved conditions tomorrow.
