Calm seas and clear skies greeted the team on the last day of the Daniel Lyons survey. The current had abated, but it left significantly colder water. A surface temperature of 53° Fahrenheit with no current made for easier, but frigid, diving conditions.

Christa and Keith finished gathering data on the port and starboard sides. Paul wrapped up measurements on the cabin roof, located 100 feet off of the starboard quarter. Tami completed measurements on the masts, booms, and gaffs, as well as other rigging components. Jack and Alan finished documenting the transom and associated features.

Arriving back at the Algoma Municipal Marina, the team had a final meeting to go over each team member’s measurements before everyone headed home. Any remaining features that needed to be added to the site plan were drawn, and the team then began packing equipment.

Watch for the Daniel Lyon’s history and site plan to be added to Wisconsin's Great Lakes Shipwrecks this winter.
